We’re pleased to announce the release of Cerclos eTool v5.40, introducing a range of enhancements that improve and streamline Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) management, expand Template Library functionality and circularity calculations, and add NABERS to our Dataset Layer to better support Green Star projects.
This update is focused on improving data consistency, increasing collaboration across teams, and delivering more accurate and representative sustainability insights across projects.
EPD Layer Options
Based on user demand and feedback, we’ve enhanced eTool’s EPD functionality with a new EPD Layer. By using the previously released Layers structure, EPDs can now be added using the EPD Layer which streamlines the whole-of-life gap filling process while making the data more visible and easier to track. EPD Organisation Sharing
EPDs can now be shared across your organisation the same way as template sharing. This helps teams work with consistent and approved assumptions/data, reducing duplication across projects and improving alignment in reporting. Learn more in this EPD Sharing post.
New NABERS Dataset Layers
The NABERS v2026.1 dataset has been added to the Dataset Layer to support alignment with latest Green Star rating scheme requirements. In conjunction with the new EPD Layer, this will ensure a seamless experience for Green Star projects and submissions. Check out the NABERS Dataset Layer scope post for more information.
Material Circularity Calculation
EPDs are now included in the Material Circularity Index (MCI) calculation, resulting in more representative circularity metrics that better reflect material flows and improve the reliability of sustainability insights. Library Template Tree List
A new tree list view has been introduced to make navigating and managing library templates more intuitive. Users can now group, filter, and locate templates more efficiently, improving usability and reducing time spent searching within larger or more complex libraries.
What’s New in v5.40
This release focuses on three key improvements across the platform:
- Enhanced eTool’s EPD functionality with a new EPD Layer and streamlined the EPD whole-of-life gap filling process to provide more complete and transparent dataset coverage. Â
- Improved collaboration and governance through organisation-wide sharing of EPDs
- More complete sustainability metrics with circularity calculations incorporating EPDs.
Together, these updates help users generate more consistent, defensible, and data-driven environmental assessments.
